Question:
Can you explain what a polly beak after rhinoplasty is and how it’s fixed?
Answer:
Polly beak deformity occurs when the nasal bone component of the nasal dorsum is lower than the height of the cartilaginous component. This leaves a larger hump on the lower portion of the nose and causes the nose to look like a parrot’s beak from a side viewpoint. It is corrected by reducing the height of the cartilaginous component to the same height as the bony component.
