Question: I’m Asian and I have a very flat nose which I think makes my whole face look flat. How do you add more dimension to a flat nose?
Answer: There are many techniques that can be done during rhinoplasty to improve the appearance of a flat or wide nasal bridge that is commonly seen in Asian noses. This usually involves building up the area with cartilage, bone, and/or an implant. The surgeon can use cartilage from the nasal septum or other sources. Osteotomies may be performed to shape the nasal bones and make them project more outward. There are several types of implants made from either synthetic or biological material that can also be placed in the area to add more dimension and correct the flattened look.
