Question:
I’ve heard that asymmetrical growth after a hair transplant is normal, but how long can this occur for and when should it start looking more even?
Answer:
After a hair transplant procedure, most of the implanted hairs are anticipated to fall. This occurs because the grafts experience a period of hair shock where the hair shaft falls but the follicle remains. The normal hair cycle that then occurs takes approximately 3 to 4 months to begin seeing regrowth. By 6 months after surgery the grafted area should have grown to one to two inches in length.
