Question:
I will be having a facelift in the next week, and plan on seeing my hairdresser a few days after. Should I inform her that I have just had a facelift and to be careful around my hairline?
Answer:
Usually, hairstyling is not recommended for 2 weeks after surgery. If you are planning to see your hairdresser soon after surgery you should first discuss this with your surgeon. In the event that your recovery allows you to go out that soon after surgery and hairstyling is the only thing keeping you from doing so, you should definitely tell your hairdresser. Be careful with hair dryers and hot water since the skin can be numb after surgery and you may not be aware of high temperatures.
