Question:
Are fillers the only way to treat the deep groove that goes from the nose to the corner of the mouth?
Answer:
I have had my best results over the years not with fillers but with excising skin, especially when there are deep grooves with a great deal of hanging folds of skin. This is a relatively simple operation and leaves a scar that looks no more noticeable than the natural crease that occurs. Today, fillers appear to be the initial treatment of choice. I would recommend that first, if you are not impressed with the results or need frequent retreatment; you consider an excision procedure, the cost of which would be no greater than a year of filler treatments.
