Question:
I am 25 years old and have Class IIIB baldness and never have used Rogaine or Propecia. I would like to know how much a hair transplant costs, is there a payment plan and does any insurance cover this?
Answer:
These questions are best answered upon after consultation to determine how much work needs to be done in proportion to the cost. Also, the hair quality, balding pattern history and flexibility of the scalp are conditions that are important in determining a cost estimate.
If someone wants the general cost of a hair transplant with this type of description, I feel comfortable in saying that an initial session can cost anywhere from $5,000 and up depending on the number of grafts being done. It is not uncommon for men to spend $20,000-$50,000 in the course of their lifetime to maintain a hair bearing experience. The costs of hairpieces and their maintenance are quite likely more over a lifetime.
