Question: Will I be able to wear my glasses after having a nose job?
Answer: The exact time that a patient may resume wearing glasses following a rhinoplasty (nose job) may vary among surgeons, but most patients will be permitted to wear glasses relatively soon. The concern is whether the weight of the glasses would place excessive pressure on the healing nasal tissue, causing a deformity. Nearly all rhinoplasty patients wear an external splint after surgery. Some surgeons suggest that the patient continue to wear the external splint for a prolonged period if glasses are being used. It is best to discuss restrictions before and after surgery with the surgeon and his or her staff.
