Question: Does the cost of rhinoplasty vary according to how much you do? For instance, if I only want minor changes done, will this cost less than someone who has major changes done?
Answer: It is possible that a less extensive rhinoplasty could cost less than a more involved procedure, but it is important to understand that many factors contribute the cost of any surgery, including the surgeon’s fee, anesthesia, and facility (operating room) fee. The surgeon will be able to approximate the time needed to complete the maneuvers required in a given rhinoplasty to achieve the result desired. He/she may adjust the surgeon’s fee accordingly. Similarly, if the procedure is shorter, the costs of anesthesia and facility, which are typically based on time, will also be less. It would be reasonable to discuss with the surgeon, or the office manager, doing a less extensive procedure in order to reduce costs.
