Question: I’m getting a full facelift and neck lift. How long will it be before I’m completely recovered?
Answer: Recovery after any surgery is a process and is different for each patient. This depends on the extent of the surgery, compliance of the patient with post-operative instructions, and other patient characteristics that may affect the healing process. Pain after a facelift is usually mild and resolves within a few days to a week. Swelling can last several weeks and may even persist mildly for a few months, but steadily improves over time. Bruising similarly can take a few weeks to resolve, as it would in any area of the body. The incisions will be “healed” within a couple weeks, but the full healing process can take a year until the scars will are at their final point. It is generally true to state that most patients feel recovered from a facelift/neck lift in approximately one month however.
