Question:
Are there any medications that you need to stop taking before getting a hair transplant?
Answer:
Any medication which is known to increase risk of bleeding should be stopped prior to hair transplantation. The usual suspects are medications such as NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications- aspirin, motrin, ibuprofen, etc.), coumadin, plavix, fish oil, ginkgo biloba, and Vit E, however, there are many more. A complete list of medications can be obtained from your doctor, and you should always consult with your doctor before stopping any medications.
